Hedges CMS Unoaked Sauvignon Blanc 2010

The Review:

Hedges Family Estate offers a value red and white wine at $14 under the CMS label.  This unoaked Sauvignon Blanc is very light in color with a marlstone hue.  The nose is full of fresh squeezed limes, Bartlett pears, and minerality.  The mouth is very full and round with building acidity.  There are notes of baked pear, lime rind, and white peach.  The finish is long and lingering with a wonderful acidity and a mouthwatering closing.

The Verdict:

The wine was drank at room temperature and it showed quite well.  I am sure that if it were to be cooled in the fridge, it would be very refreshing.  The nose is fresh and vibrant, the mouthfeel is round and complete, and the acidity builds throughout the midpalate and and ramps up on the finish.  It leaves my mouth watering.  With that being said, the wine is not super complex and is something that should be drunk young but at $14 it is something that should definitely not be passed up.
